On Friday, January 18th, 2019, The Affiliated High School of Peking University had the immense privilege to receive Yao Ming, retired professional CBA and NBA basketball player also one of China’s best-known athletes.
Yao Ming came to validate our joint athletic and academic program with the CBA U15-U16 basketball players. It was a really special day as our guest Yao Ming came to realize that the education, coaching instruction, life experience and learning that we offer here at The Affiliated High School of Peking University's Dalton Academy not only affords these athletes the opportunity to be better in their sport and become better people but also gives them a rich education, which they will definitely benefit from.
As Mr. Spencer Fowler, CEO & Superintendent of Dalton Academy said, "It is our hope now that we can scale this up. The CBA and others' hope that we will be able to take on many more teams and programs to not only support their educational career but also their other life pursuits. We want to cultivate an environment for these athletes so they can be all-stars on and off the court, or in whatever discipline they compete in, and succeed in life beyond sport."
