Recently, 24 Dalton students attended the Chinese Society for Cell Biology National Lab Open Day organized by the School of Life Sciences, Peking University.
Dalton students listened to Professor Chen Jianguo and Professor Song Yan's lectures and got opportunities to visit Song Yan's laboratory and Zhu Jian's laboratory, carefully observing the experimental equipment used in the research of molecular biology, genetic development, cytology, neuroscience, and other fields, learning the basic operations of the equipment, and experiencing interesting experiments such as observing the sex of fruit flies under the microscope. Finally, students visited the Museum of Biology at Peking University. Students not only observed the lifelike specimens but also understood their significance from different perspectives such as ecological diversity and biological evolution.
