Dalton Academy Partners with PKU

Peking University, June 29, 2022: The Peking University College of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering together with the Dalton Academy signed a formal agreement to develop a joint base for training students through applied research. Ma Yuguo, Peking University College of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering Party Committee Secretary and Principal of the Affiliated High School of Peking University presided over the signing and unveiling ceremony. Peking University College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering President Chen Xing, Vice President Wang Yingxia, Peng Meilin, Party Committee Deputy Secretary Wang Fei, Assistant to the President Li Weihong, Senior Engineering Professor Gao Zhen of the Basic Experimental Teaching Center, the Affiliated High School of Peking University’s Head of School Zeng Yao, Biology and Chemistry Department Chair Dr. Zhang Weibo, Chemistry Professor Li Junzi and others attended the signing ceremony.


Peking University College of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering Party Association Secretary and Principal of the Affiliated High School of Peking University Ma Yuguo opened the meeting by introducing the two sides of participants. Afterwards, President of the Peking University College of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering Chen Xing gave his remarks, expressing his earnest welcome to Affiliated High School of Peking University Dalton Academy teachers for coming to the Peking University College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering.” Peking University and the Affiliated High School of Peking University have always maintained a close cooperative relationship. This instance of cooperation in the areas of research and teaching, among others, is of great significance. We hope that the Peking University College of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering’s assistance to the Dalton Academy will be enough to develop more research opportunities for its students, we hope that our future cooperation is filled with success, and that we can expand it across more disciplines.


Affiliated High School of Peking University Dalton Academy Principal Zeng Yao introduced the school’s curriculum structure, special projects, research, competitions, matriculation and other areas of success. She expressed that she was very grateful for the steadfast support and care that Peking University has provided to the Dalton Academy, sharing that it is an honor to realize such a high degree of collaboration with the Peking University College of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering in the areas of teaching and research. Adding that it was also a great honor for Dalton Academy students, during their high school years, to have access to the highest quality scientific research resources offered in China. She continued that, with the support of Peking University, our efforts to train students will build them into pillars with solid foundations, improving their academic literacy and potential to conduct excellent scientific research.

Subsequently, the Peking University School of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering Vice President Wang Yingxia and the Affiliated High School of Peking University Dalton Academy’s Head of School Zeng Yao signed a joint agreement titled “Collaborative Agreement to Create a Joint Training Base for Applied Research”; Peking University School of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering Party Committee Secretary and Affiliated High School of Peking University Principal Ma Yuguo along with Peking University School of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering President Chen Xing jointly inaugurated the project. After the signing, colleagues from the two sides cordially exchanged greetings.


This instance of cooperation between the Peking University College of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering and the Affiliated High School of Peking University is a continuation of existing collaboration between Dalton Academy and Peking University, following the success of the Peking University International Summer School and the pilot program which has allowed Dalton Academy students to gain entry into Peking University’s offline courses.

The Affiliated High School of Peking University’s Dalton Academy will make full use of the scientific research platform, cutting-edge talents, and high quality courses provided by the Peking University College of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering, to fully support Dalton students on their path to conducting professional research, engaging in detailed writing, caring for their nation, developing an international outlook and facing the future.
