WHY DOES THE WORLD NEED MORE AFFILIATED HIGH SCHOOL OF PEKING UNIVERSITY’S DALTON ACADEMIES?

Dalton Academy is designed to offer an organic learning experience which is highly student-centered, research-focused, project and problem-based. It offers an education that enables students to be more than just astute academics. At Dalton, students are constantly challenged and benefit from professionals’ assistance which helps transform themselves into people who will greatly impact and better the lives of others inside and outside of Dalton Academy.

CAN I SCHEDULE A SCHOOL VISIT?

We welcome prospective candidates, parents, staff as well as members from other schools. We will be happy to tour you around and show you our beautiful campus! All you have to do is send out a message with your name and the purpose of your visit and our team will be more than happy to schedule a school visit with you.

WHAT CRITERIA DOES DALTON ACADEMY LOOK FOR IN ITS APPLICANTS?

The perfect Dalton candidate is someone curious, creative and really hardworking. She/he must have a good level of English and be highly motivated to learn and take part in different experiential learning projects. At Dalton, we like students who take risks and think outside the box. We want students to be engaged and go beyond grades!

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO STUDY AT THE AFFILIATED HIGH SCHOOL OF PEKING UNIVERSITY'S DALTON ACADEMY?

Studying at The Affiliated High School of Peking University’s Dalton Academy is getting the best of the two worlds. Most courses are in English, so students get to perfect their level of English before heading out to college and they also get to dig deeper into their own culture and language with the mandatory Chinese Liberal Arts classes. Dalton Academy prepares students for University as it fosters a student-centered approach that prepares students for both university and the real world. Students learn through seminars discussions, projects, independent research, and experiential learning. Dalton students are given a broad scope of course offerings ranging from The Middle East Refugee Crisis to Board Game Design and Physics for Space Engineering. Dalton Academy gives students the freedom to choose their own academic path as we prepare them for a future of choices.

WHAT DO MOST DALTON TEACHERS HAVE IN COMMON?

Teachers at The Affiliated High School of Peking University's Dalton Academy are passionate individuals who want to make a difference in the student's life and education. They are not afraid to collaborate and go above and beyond. Dalton Academy has nothing to do with an ordinary high school. Teachers that commit to our school come from different backgrounds but they all have one thing in common: a burning desire to provide the necessary elements for our students to succeed in life and better the world.

WHERE ARE MOST OF OUR TEACHERS FROM?

Faculty and staff have studied and worked all over the world, including Australia, Brussels, Canada, Chile, China, England, Finland, France, Spain, and the United States of America. We welcome all people that have the talent, passion, and energy to teach high school students.

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK AT DALTON?

Working at Dalton could be compared to a liberal arts college. We foster a free and creative environment for our teachers and students. Teachers teach inside their classroom, go on field trips with the students, meet with their colleagues in the Open Space, work on ideas with the Space Engineer, have a talk with students on the stools in the Open Space, organize an experiential learning trip to Italy with the ELP team, etc. If you get hired at Dalton, the only limits you have are the ones you set on yourself. Micromanagement isn't part of the picture as the leadership team believes in you!
