Introduction to the Exhibit

At the end of the first semester, students from Dr. Huang’s “Art in China: Archaeology and Material Culture” course created posters on the subject of Life and Death in the Art of Early China, further broken down into the topics of Ancestor Worship, Sacred Space and Ritual Procedures. Together, they provide a multi-dimensional, even immersive, learning experience comprised of essays, diagrams, posters and even a replica of the Tang Dynasty era Mogao Cave 220 in Dunhuang, see 中国文化 video.
